Thomas County Board of Commissioners special-called meeting, January 20, 2026: Commissioner Baggett moved that a 12-month moratorium on the permitting of data centers and related information technology facilities be instituted to prepare amendments to the Thomas County Code of Ordinances; Commissioner Brown seconded, and the motion was approved unanimously 8-0 (Chairman NeSmith and Commissioners Baggett, Brown, Grady, Hickey, Gross, Vonier, and Rich voting aye). No separate numbered resolution was issued; the moratorium is recorded directly in the signed meeting minutes, which state the Board reserves the right to extend it prior to expiration by resolution or other official action.
